Jacob and Emma’s Engagement at The Pretty Place Chapel
We came for a sunrise engagement session at The Pretty Place Chapel on a Saturday. Many people enjoy coming to watch the sunrise. It is a romantic place for couples looking to have a proposal and get engaged. Be prepared, as it is a crouded place at the sunrise and many people are going to witness your story and clap for you.
Fred W. Symmes Chapel (also known as “Pretty Place” because of its amazing view) is one of the many buildings that make up YMCA Camp Greenville. It was given by Mr. Fred W. Symmes for the enjoyment of the boys and girls who camp here each summer and is the spiritual center of the camp.
The current chapel was constructed in 1941 with several additions and improvements made in subsequent years including major upgrades made in 2012 and 2018.
The Chapel is located on private property owned by the YMCA Camp Greenville (a branch of the YMCA of Greenville, SC).
The Pretty place is nested on a side of a mountain. Be carefull with climing rocks!!! It is a steep cut off and a very dangerous. So, please stay on the designated areas.
We were limited with time and left the Chapel to go to The Bald Rock Heritage Preserve. It is one of the photographer’s favorite places nested in the mountains of Cleveland, South Carolina.
The place is photographer’s dream as you can see bird’s eye view of the mountain line, a natural scenic overlook offering a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. The rock has graffiti on it but luckaly they wash off over time. Find the spot on the rock and enjoy either sunrise or sunset in the mountains.
Jacob and Emma did great in both places. Mila Wilson photography always makes sure the couple is having fun and is enjoying their session.
